Dalia (she/her/they) is a British-Iraqi journalist, sub-editor and senior lecturer based in London. Her writing focuses on stories about creatives of marginalised backgrounds, especially the SWANA region and its diaspora. 

She has more than 15 years’ industry experience, from writing and editing to filming and sub-editing. Freelance bylines include: The Financial Times, The Guardian, Huck, VICE, It’s Nice That, Middle East Eye, The New Arab, HuffPost etc.

She is co-founder and editor of Oppose, a zine about gentrification which takes a serious and satirical approach to urban development.

Dalia teaches on BA and MA Journalism courses at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. She has obtained a PgCert qualification and has gained Fellowship of Advance HE accreditation (FHEA).
